Information alone does not always make living abroad easier
Sometimes the difficult part is knowing where to start. Sometimes it is finding a resource that turns a vague problem into a practical next step. And sometimes it is simply realising that the question you are struggling with is not unusual at all.
The Shine Club gives Plan Save Shine a place to build on its public content with more practical resources, shared experiences and opportunities to connect.
It is not intended to replace professional financial support, medical advice, tax advice or any other specialist service. It is a community layer around the wider Plan Save Shine project.
Not a gate in front of the website
Useful information is not conditional on becoming a Shiner. The majority of Plan Save Shine's Insights remain publicly accessible, because a clear explanation should be able to help you before you decide to sign up, attend an event or ask for personalised support.
The Club is for people who want access to selected extras and a closer relationship with what Plan Save Shine is building.
Where the practical resources live
Some questions are better answered by something you can use rather than something you can simply read. The Shine Library brings together practical resources created by Plan Save Shine, including ShineBooks, checklists, templates and other tools as they are produced and verified.
Some resources can be available only to Shiners.
The Library houses the resources. The Shine Club connects the people who want to use them and stay involved over time.
Explore the Shine LibrarySome topics work better together
Some topics work better when people can ask questions, listen to different perspectives or spend more time on one subject. Plan Save Shine already uses workshops and events as another way to explore practical and financial questions, and the Club can be the place where selected community experiences are shared as they are scheduled.
Events may be free or paid depending on the format. Any price, date, location, capacity or access conditions are always stated clearly on the relevant event page.
Built for people already living in Germany
The Club is designed primarily for people who already live in Germany and want to build a life here with more useful information and better points of reference. You may find it especially relevant if you:
Have been in Germany for a while but still regularly encounter systems you do not fully understand
Want to become more confident with financial decisions without being spoken to like an expert
Are going through a change in work, family, housing or long-term plans
Enjoy practical resources that help turn information into action
Want to stay connected to a community built around similar experiences
There is no required profession, income level or stage of life for joining.
For the questions, transitions and decisions along the way
The Club is designed for people who are still figuring parts of life in Germany out.
The Shine Club is there for the questions, transitions and decisions that happen along the way — with useful resources and a community built around people navigating a similar context.
